Studio and Shows

Invited Visitors Only

Students are asked to remain outside the studio until just before their class begins. they will be invited in, when its time, by the teacher or assistant.

We request that Parents do not watch rehearsals unless invited as we find it distracts the students. There will be opportunities to view the class and parents will receive a notice with these opportunities listed

Competitions

It is our policy to put only our most versatile and well trained students into competitions. All students are allowed to take part in recitals or hospital shows. Students having extra rehearsals for festival or recital work may be charges $10 per hour for rehearsals.

Parent must indicate in September if they do not want their child involved in such activities.

Most young beginners require one year of classes before their debut "on stage".

Students will be chosen for special events on their efforts, progress, presentation, attendance, punctuality, grooming and specially their practice habits. Students attending ballet classes are definitely at an advantage where progress is concerned. At least one ballet lesson per week is recommended.

BroadStreet Dance Presentation

Each year at the end of May or beginning of June, the students of all the dance programs will perform in a show at the UVIC Centre Auditorium. There will be extra rehearsals scheduled for approximately 6 weeks prior to the show.

  • Parent will be requested to provide costumes and possibly stage props
  • Children under 9 years should be accompanied for the rehearsals and performance
  • Students need to bring their costume, props and their own makeup (blush, lipstick, mascara).

Detailed notices will be distributed well in advance.
