Important Dates...please keep posted!

January 23 – February 27 Saturday rehearsals from 3 -7 PM with Sherry… for all festival dancers

February 8 - 11 - DanceArts “COMPETITION Festival” Mary Winspear Theatre, Sidney
February 14 - DanceArts “COMPETITION Gala” 2 PM Mary Winspear
February 27 - Last scheduled Saturday rehearsals with Sherry before Spring Break, and
Teachers’ deadline for completion of teaching Festival/Show dances AND giving out costume instructions.
*Note: Performers have been chosen based on ability, practice habits, age and experience, commitment, and desire! Typically, the dancers take more than one class a week.
Performers must be committed to the dance(s), to the teachers and choreographers, to their fellow dancers, to the costumers, and finally to themselves, their Parents, and "BroadStreet Dance". As a result, it is imperative that ALL dancers attend ALL rehearsals and performances. (A Student, who misses only one hour of practice, wastes the time of all others involved.)
FOR EXAMPLE: If there are 16 dancers in a group, and 1 dancer misses 1 hour.... that is 16 hours of time wasted!!!! As well, another group could be using the studio time and that of the teacher!!! PARENTS WILL BE COUNTED ON TO GET STUDENTS TO ALL PRACTICES ON TIME, PLEASE! Thank You!! Lots of Work means lots and lots of FUN!

March 6 - Saturday, last day of classes/rehearsals before Spring Break.
March 7 - 19 inclusive - SPRING BREAK* - no scheduled classes. *The BSD office is closed.
March 11/12/13 – Thursday/Friday/Saturday, preparation for Saint Barnabas’ Event - no rehearsals

April 2 - 5 - Easter Weekend - classes as scheduled Saturday only, no classes Easter Monday. Some rehearsals may be scheduled.
April 3 – May 24 Saturday rehearsals resume with Sherry for The Year End Presentation!
April 6 – 12- (also see May 2) Dance Arts Performance Festival at the MAC.
April 13 - 6 PM – 10 PM - Tech rehearsal for GVPAF festival pieces on stage at UVIC
April 18 – 22 (see also May 1) Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival at UVIC Centre
April 23 & 24 - Canadian College of Performing Arts ‘Kiss Me Kate’ at the McPherson Theatre. Watch for our Dan and Dylan!!!
April 25 - West Coast Tap Day – Stanley Theatre, Vancouver - honoring Jeff Hyslop
April 30 – May 9 - VOS ‘Grease’ at the McPherson Theatre

May 1 - Saturday 9:30 AM-1:30 PM at UVIC Centre - Tickets for our year-end presentation, “This Is It!”, are on pre-sale to BroadStreet Studio members online. Phone 721 8480. Tix - $18.50 and $13.50. Note: This price includes GST + UVIC Box Office service charge. All students sitting in the auditorium must have their own ticket for their reserved seat.
May 1 - GVPAF Gala at UVIC Centre
May 1 – 29 There will be some extra practices, TBA, for all classes in our Year End Presentation.
May 2 - DanceWorks Gala 7:30PM at the Royal Theatre…Awards at 6:30 PM in the lobby
May 3 - Monday at UVIC Box office - Public sale of BSD Year End Show, “This Is It!” starts. Box Office Hours are 9:30 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday. 721 8480
May ? TBA - ISTD Examinations under direction of Ms. Arabella Martin
May ? TBA - ISTD ‘Associate’ Examinations under direction of Ms. Arabella Martin
May 23 – 27 - BC Festival of the Arts in Duncan
May 24 – Victoria Day – no classes
May 25 – International TAP DANCE Day
May 25 - Technical rehearsal for “This Is It!” at UVIC Centre Auditorium 5-9 PM, schedule TBA -for EVERYONE! Schedule to be posted 1 week prior.
May 29 - "BROADSTREET DANCE" Year-End Presentation 2010 “This Is It!” 7:30 PM at UVIC CENTRE. Reserve this date from 2-11 PM
May 31 - June 5 - Watching Week and/or Bring a Friend Week. Ask your teacher.

June 3 - “Adult Night” at 7 PM at BroadStreet Dance Studio - Potluck after Adult Tap Demonstrations.
June 5 - 1:00-3:00 PM only, Registration Day for 2010/2011 season.
June 21 - Last Day of Scheduled classes for 2009/2010 season!

July ? - Join BroadStreet Dance in Las Vegas!!!!!!

Fall classes commence on Saturday, September 18th!!!
